– Our Mission –

Our Mission is to create a caring community of lifelong learners, each equipped with the knowledge and skills to be successful in an ever-evolving world.
As an advocate of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and a champion of the IB Learner Profile, we nurture young people to grow and fulfil their personal and academic potential with dignity and respect.

Nurturing Environment

We believe in a nurturing school community.

Whether making the first big step into pre-school, or preparing for university entrance examinations, our students feel the safety and support to take risks and take charge of their learning.

International Community

Our community is made up of students and staff from over 25 countries.

No matter where you are from, what language you speak, you can be who you are. TOIS is your home in Ostrava.

Professional Staff

Quality learning begins with a qualified, devoted pedagogical staff.

With a student-to-teacher ratio of 5:1, TOIS students get the individual attention they need to be motivated, life-long learners.

Global-Minded Curriculum

We combine the best of the National Curriculum of England and the International Baccalaureate programmes to provide our students with the highest quality English-language international curriculum.

Early Years

Ages 3–4

Children entering the Early Years Programme participate in inquiry-led, play-based activities to stimulate learning in both indoor and outdoor environments.

We aim to develop the whole child; socially, physically, emotionally and culturally, and to have fun doing it!

Primary Years

Ages 5–10

The Primary Years learning experience is centred on the conviction that we are all different, yet we are all the same. By asking questions, investigating, collaborating and forming ideas from multiple perspectives, TOIS students develop new skills and understandings that will form the basis of their future learning.

Middle Years

Ages 11–15

Learning in the Middle Years is characterised by the shift that all young people go through as they become independent young adults. Students strengthen their skills and deepen their knowledge as they begin to pursue their individual learning passions, and continue to be more aware of the world around them.

Diploma Programme

Ages 16–17

Diploma Programme students make a strong commitment to develop their academic interests, and to participate in extracurricular activities and globally-minded service projects. Students and parents receive strong support in course selection and preparation for university.
